Title IX Trailblazer

Pat Meiser, Athletics Director/Special Assistant to the President, at the University of Hartford has been recognized as a "Title IX Trailblazer" by the America East Conference. The following video celebrates Meiser for her commitment to the Hartford athletics department and its community, the America East Conference, and for providing equal opportunities to female student-athletes.

With 20 years spent as Director of Athletics at Hartford, Meiser has contributed to intercollegiate athletics as a player, coach and administrator and has watched and impacted the development of Title IX over the last 40 years. According the America East Web site, she is one of just 30 Division I female director of athletics and has won the Northeast Region I-AAA Athletic Director of the Year award twice for her significant contributions.

Meiser is also a contributor to Athletic Management. She recently wrote about striking a personal-professional balance in "Where the Heart Is."
